AKWA , RYvER and Local Stakeholders Operationalize IPBES Nature Futures Framework to Save the Albarine River System

Description of Impact(s) (English Only) The Aquatic Knowledge Centre Wageningen (AKWA) and the Drying River Networks and Climate Change (DRYvER) programme held a joint workshop in Lyon, France to co-create a desirable future for the drying Albarine river system. During the meeting, a mix of project and local stakeholders operationalized the IPBES Nature Futures Framework to come up with solutions for the river network, as well as discussed the socio-economic values related to the river, according to workshop participants.

The AKWA (Aquatic Knowledge Centre Wageningen) is part of the Netherlands Institute of Ecology (NIOO-KNAW). The Drying River Networks and Climate Change project is funded by the EU's Horizon 2020 Research & Innovation Programme.
