Stratford-on-Avon District Council Cabinet Declares an Ecological Emergency Citing IPBES Sustainable Use Assessment

English
The District Council Cabinet of Stratford-Upon-Avon approved a motion for the declaration of an ecological emergency, in particular as regards biodiversity loss. This follows an earlier declaration by the Council Cabinet of a climate emergency. The council adopted a motion referring to IPBES Sustainable Use of Wild Species Assessment Report as it "provides compelling evidence that humans are over-exploiting wild species and habitats". The original motion is available here: https://www.stratford.gov.uk/news/press.cfm/archive/1/item/138218 and the statement regarding the approval of the motion is here: https://www.stratford.gov.uk/news/press.cfm/archive/1/item/138218
