A biologist from S. Paulo University where her career was developed from a master's degree in Zoology to professorship in Ecology. The main subjects are bees, biodiversity, ecosystem services, pollination, and food production. After retirement in S. Paulo worked in the Brazilian semiarid region for 4 years and in the Amazon region (Belem) for 5,5 years, establishing new research groups focusing mainly on the use and conservation of biodiversity, with interdisciplinary groups applying new approaches resulting in useful tools for planning the transformative change.
