About .Dr. Steve Schill is the Lead Scientist for The Nature Conservancy's Caribbean Division and has been working with GIS and remote sensing technologies for natural resource monitoring and management for the past twenty years. He is a marine conservation specialist and has worked on systematic protected area design centered on GIS-based decision-support tools throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. He is currently working with several Caribbean governments to map and strategically expand marine protected areas, improve management capacity, and implement monitoring measures. Steve received his doctorate in Geography from the University of South Carolina and is currently an Adjunct Professor at Brigham Young University’s Department of Geography where he teaches courses in remote sensing.
