I am an ecologist, interested in biological invasions, biogeography, climate change and geospatial techniques. My PhD research deals with modelling the spread of high concern invasive plants across India. In doing so, I have used the information from the world's largest known invasive plant monitoring program, to answer 'How the invasive plants spread? what drives the invasion? and how global changes are facilitating the spread?'
While maintaining this as my primary research niche, I've been working on the national tiger estimation program. I was part of the team that developed the 'MSTrIPES' program that has channelized the information on protection, ecological status and human-wildlife conflict in the protected areas of India. I love writing and reconciling on ecology, philosophy and social equality.
