About
Flore Lafaye de Micheaux holds a PhD in Geography (Political Ecology) from University of Lausanne, Switzerland. She also holds Master degrees in Environmental Sciences and Civil Engineering.
Floreā€™s professional career has focused on water and flood management, ecosystem restoration, and environmental policy. She has worked in Ethiopia as a French Cooperation Officer (1997-1999), with the French Ministry of Environment to head units in charge of implementing flood risk policy and water policy in Normandie (1999-2002), and coastal water conservation in Languedoc-Roussillon region, France (2003-2007) and in coordinating regional actions to implement the European Water Framework Directive (2007-2010). She then moved to New Delhi to join the Embassy of France in India as Sustainable Development Counsellor, promoting Indo-French dialogue and partnerships in environment and sustainable urban development, energy and transportation sectors (2010-2014). She recently moved to the IUCN Secretariat as IPBES Programme Officer. She is in charge of facilitating and strengthening the IUCN-IPBES strategic partnership.
