Dr. Febria is a Canada Research Chair (Tier 2) and Assistant Professor at the Great Lakes Institute for Environmental Research (GLIER) & Dept. of Integrative Biology at the University of Windsor. She is co-Director of the GLIER Organic and Nutrients central research Facility. Her research focuses on the ecology and restoration of small streams and wetlands. Her research connects molecular and microbial ecosystem processes to whole food web & watershed restoration. Her research has been published in the Canadian Journal of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences, Science, Nature Geoscience, Environmental Science & Technology, and Frontiers in Microbiology, for example. She is a Coordinating Editor with the journal Restoration Ecology, and she is a Fellow with the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services. She is co-founder of the Kindness in Science global collective.
