Serbia Joins IPBES as 137th Member
4 June 2020
Dear IPBES members, observers and other interested stakeholders,
It is very encouraging to receive positive news in time of difficulty and see the growing global interest in the work of IPBES. I am very pleased to announce that, on the basis of a request from H.E. Ivica Dačić, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Government of the Republic of Serbia has formally joined IPBES as our 137th member.
Ms. Jelena Jelena Dučić and Mr. Dušan Ognjanović (Ministry of Environmental Protection of Serbia) have been officially designated as the IPBES National Focal Points for Serbia, and their contact details will be reflected soon on the IPBES website.
I extend to Serbia our warmest welcome – the IPBES family continues to grow, both in size and extent of engagement and impact – strengthening science and policy, for people and nature.
