Information gaps detected during this assessment include: i) social data are generally collected at the political scale, while ecological information is taken at the ecosystem or biome levels, impeding integration and comparison, ii) some political entities are under-represented or absent from global country-level databases (e.g. Greenland), iii) relative absence of long-term data, particularly for some regulating and non-material nature’s contributions to people, and iv) relative absence of multiple valuations and trade-off analysis of human-nature relationships {2.8}.
