Africa still does not know the full potential of biodiversity and of nature’s contributions to its economic and technological development, and it continues to lose a large part of these resources and knowledge (well-established). Addressing these gaps and losses is critical at a time when the value of knowledge is recognised as vital to the development of a low carbon, ecological, knowledge-based economy.
