Biotechnology, food production and climate change

Thank you for providing me this  opportunity to participate in this event. i would like to know about the synergies, complimentary or associated problems related to the role of biotechnology, food production and climate change. This is because of the fact that on one hand biotechnology is a solution to growing food demand globally and in the wake of climate change probably this is a way out, however there are concern regarding biotechnology based solution to food supplies in terms of creating a culture of mono culture crops, health risks and food chain disturbances.
