Frederick Ato Armah (PhD) is Professor at the Department of Environmental Science at the University of Cape Coast in Ghana. He was educated at the same university and Lund University in Sweden. He holds a PhD in Geography (Environment and Human Health) from the University of Western Ontario in Canada, where he was an Ontario Trillium Scholar. His academic and research interests include, Human-Environment Interactions, Environmental Hazards and Risk Assessment, Agro-Ecological Systems, Participatory Natural Resources Management, and Health Geography. He has more than 100 publications in international peer-reviewed journals. He has reviewed for over 50 international peer reviewed journals. Frederick was recently a United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Regional Expert for Africa on the Global Environment Outlook Report 6 (GEO-6) and Lead Author on the policy effectiveness chapter of the GEO-6 Report. At the University of Cape Coast, he is currently the Director of Research Innovation and Consultancy (DRIC).
