Lead author at the Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) Global Assessment and the Brazilian Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services. Has experience in Human Ecology and Environmental Anthropology. Main academic interests: adaptation to tropical forests, forest governance, shifting cultivation, Atlantic rainforest, Amazonia, protected areas and Brazilian traditional people (Caboclos, Caiçaras and Quilombolas).
