Request to stakeholder organizations: Nomination of a focal point to IPBES

Dear IPBES stakeholders,

In an effort to streamline our processes, I invite all stakeholder organizations involved or interested in becoming involved in the work of IPBES, to nominate an official focal point to IPBES.

In terms of the procedures for the preparation of IPBES deliverables (set out in annex I to decision IPBES-3/3), relevant stakeholders are qualified national, regional and international scientific organizations, centres of excellence and institutions known for their work and expertise. Under the procedures, relevant stakeholders are, in particular, invited to present candidates in response to calls for the nomination of experts to prepare IPBES deliverables.

To facilitate future nomination processes and other administrative procedures, we ask each organization to designate one focal point for all IPBES activities, providing full contact information for the focal point to the secretariat and notifying the secretariat of any changes in the information.

Please note that a letter of nomination signed by the head of the organization is required.
